Who We Are

Built for Growth, Competition, and Community

Select Competition Basketball League is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) youth basketball organization serving boys and girls across the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. Since 2010, SCBL has provided structured play, skill-based clinics, and leadership-focused programs designed to help young athletes grow both on and off the court.

  • Fundamental Skill Development

  • Competitive Game Experience

  • Teamwork and Leadership

  • Confidence and Discipline

THE SCBL DIFFERENCE

What makes SCBL unique is our commitment to teaching players how to play freely. While structure, fundamentals, and accountability remain important, we believe the game is best learned through reading, reacting, and making decisions in real time. Rather than over-scripting every movement, we empower players to think the game, trust their instincts, and develop confidence within the flow of competition.

At SCBL, we teach athletes how to play, not just how to run plays. Our focus is on developing basketball IQ, creativity, and the ability to adapt—skills that translate to success at every level of the game.

Leadership

Led by Experience.
Built on Mentorship.

SCBL was founded by Ed Jennings, a former high school and college player as well as coach with extensive experience in player development and program leadership, Coach Jennings and the SCBL coaching staff are committed to providing positive mentorship and structured instruction that supports long-term athlete growth.

Through partnerships with schools, healthcare organizations, and community sponsors, SCBL continues to expand opportunities for youth across the Lehigh Valley & Surrounding Areas.
